Print Reserves

Reserve Textbooks

Reserve copies of textbooks are available for the convenience of students and can be checked out for a non-renewable period of 2 hours.

Students have an obligation to purchase required class texts; textbooks on reserve are not intended and should not be used as a substitute for the purchase of class textbooks.

About Reserves

Rserve materials are resouces on a limited ciruculation by the instructors. There are two (2) types of reserve materials:

  1. Print - textbooks, journal articles, course materials, cds, sheet music
  2. Electronic - http://mvsu.docutek.com

All reserve (print) materials are to be used in the library, unless otherwise specified by the instructor. Students must present their current MVSU ID to borrow reserve items at the main campus or at the Greenville Higher Education Center (GHEC). Only one (1) reserve item may be borrowed per student.

Electronic reserve materials can be accessed via the Internet at http://mvsu.docutek.com. Some electronic reserve materials require a password. This password should be obtained from the course instructor.

There is a time limit on all reserve materials for  two (2) hours. Students who exceed the specified time limit will be charged a reserve fine of $.50 cents per hour until the item is returned. Reserve privileges will be suspended until reserve fines are cleared.

All reserve materials are due back at the circulation desk ten (10) minutes before closing.

Electronic Reserves

Students may search for electronic course reserves in Docutek (http://mvsu.docutek.com), the library's electronic reserve system.  You may search by professor name, course name, course number or department. If a password is required to access reserve materials, contact the instructor for that course.
