Valley Voices: A Literary Review seeks submissions (fiction, nonfiction, poetry) from creative writers anywhere. Critical essays, poetry, fiction, or nonfiction on the Mississippi landscape, Mississippi Delta history, literature, art, music, civil rights movement, and folklore studies are always welcome. No more than five poems, typed and single-spaced, for each submission. Critical essays (MLA Style is required), fiction, or nonfiction of around 5,000 words must be typed and double-spaced. Submissions and correspondence by mail are welcome, but a self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage must be enclosed to guarantee a return or reply. No previously published material will be accepted.
Valley Voices does not consider simultaneous submissions. Our reading period is September 1 to June 1 each year, and our response time is three weeks to three months or longer. Valley Voices pays only two copies to contributors.
