Official Name: Mississippi Valley State University - James Herbert White Library
Mission: The mission of the James H. White Library is to enhance access, collect, organize and maintain a scholarly print and non print collection that supports the university’s mission of research, teaching and learning, and service through the development of collections, access services and effective delivery of services.
Goals: The library has as its goals the following:
· To collect and provide access to scholarly print and non print research materials
· To provide instruction in the use of traditional library collections and new technological information resources through an innovative user access education program
· To provide optimal efficient delivery of service

Library News
Library services will be temporarily interrupted during the weeks of October 10 – 28, 2011. The Director of the Library encourages all its community of users who need library services, to use the library’s webpage (http://www.mvsu.edu) for books, journal articles, magazine articles, etc.Also, if you have questions do not hesitate to contact us via Virtual Reference also found on the library’s webpage under “Do you Need Help? Ask a Librarian” and we will respond to your question online or via email. The library expects to resume full operations in the Academic Skills Parlor, the building adjacent to the current library, sometime during the week of October 31, 2011. Please pardon our progress as we build a 21st century library for our 21st century community of library users. Please continue to follow MVSU News and the library’s webpage for further updates.
